Notice
We’ve had a second player, this time from the 10 pm. game between U Need A Plumber and Arctic Snowplow, displayed symptoms after getting home. His home rapid test result was positive and he is currently calling clinics and test labs to get an appointment for a PCR test.
Players from those 2 teams should speak to their team captain to determine if there was close contact, and if necessary perform the MLHU’s Self- Assessment at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/ for further guidance.

NOTICE
One of the players from the 7 pm. game on Sunday Dec. 19, felt ill later that evening and subsequently tested positive on a COVID home rapid test. He’s since requested an appointment to get a PCR test that will confirm that result.
We’ve notified all the players, officials and arena staff at that game who may have had close contact with the player at the arena; however, there may be other individuals who socialised after the game who were overlooked and are still unaware of it. You should contact your team captain for more information.
Individuals who had close contact should go to the MLHU site at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/ and do the "Self-Assessment".
You will get a recommendation on what to do next.
Please contact your team captain or any League executive if you get a negative test.

Some of you have asked why I have a duck on my goal mask. A duck is the travelling mascot of The Beckett Project.
As many of you know, on April 26th, 2018 our son Beckett chose to leave this world. To honor his memory, Ann and I created The Beckett Project, to talk about mental health, tackle the stigma associated with suicide, and give back to our community. To date, we have raised over $50,000 and given to many worthy causes and organizations.
We currently have a Campaign supporting V-EH Veterans and Everyday Heroes through a London Craft Brewery gift package. Check it out here:
The Becket Project
I can bring packages on Sunday for those interested, or take last minute Christmas orders.

The City of London has announced they will be checking for proof of being fully vaccinated from all participants, coaches, officials and spectators over 18 each time they wish to enter the arena. This will be in addition to the check-in protocols and health assessment form currently in place at London arenas. The memo can be viewed from the main page menu bar by tapping on "Vaccination Proof"

Ontario's vaccine passport system starts Sept. 22 for many activities. People will have to show photo identification and either a paper or PDF version of their vaccine receipt until an app is ready, likely in late October. The City’s Recreation & Sports department has indicated they might implement some sort of passport requirement for their adult hockey rentals.
Our first game will be Sept. 26, and the LEOHL will require that everyone entering the arena to participate in or watch the games, should present their vaccine receipts to a LEOHL executive for verification before allowing you to pass.
With this in mind, applicants and players should not send copies of their vaccine receipts to the League or attach them to your application. Instead, hang on to them and bring them to each game.
Once the vaccine passport program starts and the City adds it into their screening protocols, it should help speed up the screening process.

The London East Old-Timers Hockey League (LEOHL) has begun preparations to resume playing hockey again this fall at Argyle Arena. Until advised differently, our operations will conform to the guidelines and protocols currently in effect for summer hockey in London.
This season we will require that all members of the League including executives, players, officials, volunteers and guests must be fully vaccinated and able to present their vaccine documentation.
The 2021 Draft will be held Sept. 10, 2021, and the LEOHL 2021 Application/Waiver (the Document) is available to download from this web site. All players wishing to be entered into the draft must submit their fully answered and signed Document by Sept. 9, 2021.
Full Time Players must submit their completed Document with their fee payment to Don Dixon by Sept. 9, 2021, to be entered into the draft.
Players on the current spare list wanting a full-time spot are eligible for the draft and must submit their completed Document by Sept. 9, 2021 to be entered into it.
Players wishing to remain on the spare list and New Applicants wishing to spare only, or seeking a full-time spot may submit their completed Document at any time.

Summer hockey got under way last week, under the guidelines set out in Step 3 of the Roadmap to Reopen Ontario. These guidelines are based on vaccination thresholds of 70 - 80% vaccinated with one dose and 25% vaccinated with two doses.
With this in mind, the LEOHL executive has initiated inquiries for ice time and protocol requirements as the preliminary step to planning operations for a 2021 - 2022 season.
As part of that planning, full time players from the 2019 - 2020 season can expect a call from their team captain in the coming days.
Players on the spare list from that same season will be contacted by text or phone in early August regarding their intentions for the upcoming season.
Any new players 35 yrs. old as of Oct. 1, 2021 wishing to join the League as a spare or a full time player may fill out the 2020 - 2021 Player Application available on the home page of this site. Please keep in mind that dates and fees will be revised on the 2021 - 2022 Player application, available later in August, 2021.
